That's an odd looking contraption! At least the heat sink is larger than the LED's though. Pretty fugly though.
Probably better off replacing the lantern with a proper LED one.
I agree with you there Andy and that's true although these are £30 while a INDO Air 1 which is £100
What the fcuk? I think the Venture ones look a lot better tbh.

Hey, it seems well designed (thermal design) for a functional design of a LED lamp. It does not have to look like a HID. And it does not try to look "smart eco thin green design" like LED lanterns. So all is good there. I dont expect much from it in light quality and brightness vs. a SON however

Is it me or does that look like the size of a 400watt merc??
looks like a 250 to me
Not seen the Venture one? And regarding the output I would like to see how these fair. And I agree it's a it big?
ive used one of these, some work direct off 240, some you have to leave the ballast for the 70 son lamp in still.. they look crap, they light up ok, recon they are good for a large opaque globe, but any lantern where you can see the lamp, they look bad, dont think they would last too long either
I reckon these won't fit in some of our globes with the glass refactor. Which either means they will need to find a better lamp design or they will rip the refactor off which I feel will be the case 🤔

It looks like it's design was inspired by the Thorn Johanna but badly described by an english man on the phone to a china man
I dont see the problem with the design, other than it not being diffused (so likely to make high glare with any luminaire that doesnt have refractors). It seems cooled well and seems to try to position the light emission center in the same place as a HID lamp to work as well as possible with the HID optics. Anything else ?

This certainly is an odd looking thing...

If you are using ovoid lamps, perhaps better to wait for the Signify and Sylvania LED filament versions to appear in UK, those have much smaller bulbs although still slightly larger than the original 50/80/125 MBF and 35/50/70W SON-E they are designed to replace. But if the lanterns need clear lamps for the optical control, these do a good job - and there is so much light you can hardly see the ugly shape from the ground when lit.
How do these Signify and Sylvania ones look like for street lighting James?
it has "SIGNIFY" ED the end for hid
