Philips 400W MA/V Medium Pressure mercury vapour lamp
a recent addition to the collect and something I have wanted for a long time

a British MA/V lamp :) I have had a US GE Mazda A-H1 400W medium pressure mercury lamp for many years, but I have never actually been able to get a British one until now

they always went for silly money on ebay,

so im pleased to have finally got this British Philips example :)

(yes before I get mullered, I did get this from Thorncollector's ebay front, but it was actually quite cheap all things considered so I lobbed a bid on it and won with no one else bidding against me surprisingly!)

Thanks Smile I should get round to uploading the lighted pictures I have of it Smile also makes me want to dig out my aforementioned GE A-H1 lamp and upload pictures and light it, as its been many years since I have done so!

and it will be interesting to compare the 2 directly especially as Philips MA/V lamps such as this one used Beehive electrodes like US MA lamps did rather then the horizontal Thoria pellet based electrode most British MA lamps have

(which is one of the reasons id still like to get my hands on an BTH/AEI or GEC MA lamp)
