ive got some old brass capped philips tubes that have gone blotchy like this, its done some work this one has

The 8 foots in the schools go almost black with the amount of hours they do! Something you just don't get with modern tubes! My second hand cromptons did 7 years daily use in my front room Nick also second hand when I got them one is still going!
