RGB SMT LED
|
Just a quick shot of the SMT RGB LED modules in a modular GMMK keyboard that I was assembling.
The LED's are actually really quite bright (much less offensive with the keycaps on though).
You can't see it in this still photograph but it was doing it's "wave effect" demo thing going through the colour spectrum.
I hate RGB PC gear so I will only be using this backlighting in a solid static colour only.
I may decide to have the function and modifier keys a different colour to the main alphabetical, numeric, and punctuation keys.
They switches that I am using are Kailh box whites, which are a tactile and clicky switch that uses a unique clickbar to generate the tactile bump and clicking sound.
The are about a million times better than the standard Cherry MX Blue (which isn't hard to do because they are shit lol) and I reckon they are almost on par with ALPS blue or IBM buckling springs!
