This lamp was a chance purchase. The seller had sold several OSRAM MBF/U 1000W (made by Thorn) at a very affordable price and asked me: "I also have such a lamp" without white ", do you want it too?"

"Well, well, I'll take this lamp" without white "too."
It was lucky. That's the story.

@Andy, it is a bit off the subject, but there is a PHILIPS data sheet from 1969 listing the 1000W MB/U lamps for the UK:

Now one of you just has to find these lamps ...
