DIY 1000w Compact Source Iodide Gearbox
I finally got around to building a gearset so I can run my CSI PAR64 lamps without having to wire up a rats nest every time.
Now I can just plug in and go!

The bloody thing is heavy and so big that the background sheet of Alcantara that I normally use is too small!
I used a Hylec DEDS0400 steel IP66 enclosure to house it all in.

The enormous three phase socket was used as I need something that can stand up to 15amps and also has 4 poles: Live, Neutral, Earth and the Ignitor trigger.

Are those boxes Rittal?

The 1000w MBF gear that I bought is but this and the 1000w SON gear that I built are in Hylec boxes. Not quite as well built as the Rittal ones but these are a lot cheaper and come complete with the galvanised steel internal mounting plate which seems to be an optional extra on most of the other, more expensive brands! You'd think they would include that vital component for the price they charge!
