As I commented on the other side, I do like this interesting quirky thing. This is the first time I have seen this design. I hear these 'conventional' tube shapes with external coils are more efficient than the more discrete Philips QL with internal coil. I know of a few Genura installations with the same basic design principle as this. They never seem to fail after years of observation.

Not that I have seen a lot of induction lamps, but this one looks real thick! , have you done a lit pic of one of these?
