Are these good tubes? Unlike the alto stuff?

Can't say for sure on this particular model since this is the only one I've seen, but the older/pre-alto Philips tubes in general seemed to be good...I never had any problems with them (nor do I ever remember seeing mercury starved around, like these days)

Alto's vary, some seem pretty crappy, others - like the 4' T12 6500k/Daylight are ok

Yea, that problem they seem run in batches bad and to half way decent tube. Philip US just toss Qualty Control out the windows now days. I have a feeling phillips going to pack up in US some day.
