That tube is cool they do seem a bit electrically different to our 40W tubes when I have used them to seem to flash a bit more.

it is quite blinky with a NOS Thorn 155/500 4-65-80w starter, the other Chroma 75 on the EKCO QS fitting just fires right up,no end glow or anything

Chroma 75 - yes I can see how it has that 'chrome' tint/hue to it - suppose it is very high CRI above 90?
