Internally lit Clearway Sign
Relamped this beauty last night out on the trunk roads. It runs a pair of 15w tubes (Sylvania 840s now) and is the only example left that I'm aware of. It even has a little window in the bottom to illuminate the supplementary plate.

you dont seen many box signs today, they still make them i believe, but very few councils use them today, they were all the rage in the 70's fading out in the late 80's. They are out of fashion today, its LED overhead on a reflective plate

Very Happy Oh I well remember these!, back in the days when traffic island bollards were made of glass fibre, and were lit with 2 13watt T5s! Very Happy
