Comparing the colour of an Osram HCI-TS 70W/830 WDL to 827 colour CFLs Despite all of these light sources (Osram HCI-TS 70W/830 WDL, Sylvania Lynx-S 9W/827 and Philips Genie 8W warm white) have the same colour rendering (Ra8=85-86), the colour of the CMH is indistinguishable from halogens while the CFLs have significantly different colour than incandescents. Even the Osram HO 54W/830 SL have significantly different colour. Why is this?

Despite all of these light sources (Osram HCI-TS 70W/830 WDL, Sylvania Lynx-S 9W/827 and Philips Genie 8W warm white) have the same colour rendering (Ra8=85-86), the colour of the CMH is indistinguishable from halogens while the CFLs have significantly different colour than incandescents.
Even the Osram HO 54W/830 SL have significantly different colour.
Why is this?

Update: It seems that the R9 red rendering of my Osram HCI-TS 70W/830 WDL is much better than of a typical 827 colour CFL.

Well: As this lamp takes 7 mins to restrike on my Philips HID-PrimaVision PV C 70 /S CDM electronic HID ballast... See my video here .
This will be the last CMH lamp I would buy for my tracklight. Philips Mastercolour CDM-TD 70W/830 would restrike after 15 mins or not at all, as my ballast have automatic shutdown after 15 mins.
