These middle of nowhere areas are a goldmine for old lighting like this - however it cannot be said exactly the same for the UK as even those places cannot escape from the LED upgrades

It's sadly also getting that way across Spain, mercury seems to be really rare now, at least in this part of northern Spain which is where I'm from. Most mercury lanterns were retrofitted with SON-E lamps, and then by LED unfortunately. Places in the middle of nowhere still yield finds though!

That's good that Spain's isolated/middle of nowhere still yields a lot of old lighting even though Spain is marching on with the LED upgrades. In the UK the only place I know that is middle of nowhere - ish was hanging onto a decent amount of non LED lighting but now I think the LED upgrades have cut through by now, I'll need to check, it is Goring on Streatley in South Oxfordshire
