2000w Philips IODE
1 x 2kW Philips IODE double-jacketed tungsten-halogen lamp.

Quite bright and quite hot! Draws exactly 2000w at 240v.

The graphite paint on the pinch seal area is designed to raise the temperature in order to minimise attack of the lead wires and filament in that area by the halogen.

I do like these high power IODE lamps. I have a similar one but it doesn't have the nice graphite coated pinch seal ends like this one. Does this have a lilac or brown afterglow at all?

Yes! It has an purple afterglow which is interesting as I thought a lamp like this would have had bromine instead.

Guess that must be iodine then. I think some had bromene instead but not sure what determined the different elements.
