1981 Osram HQL-R De Luxe 80W
|
Wile it was most common for european manufactures to use a white Bariumoxide reflector in europe for mercury which is itself coated with a fluorescent coating and a clear or frosted front, like with Philips HPLR or British MBFR lamps, Osram in germany used another approach for their 80W and 125W high pressure mercury reflector lamps. The lamp features an aluminized reflector with a coating of Yttrium-Vanadat deluxe white phosphor.
These lamps were introduced in the mid 1970s and discontinued in 2015 with the EU phasout of Mercury vapour lamps. These lamps were made as a replacment for reflector GLS spotlight however they become also popular for indoor gardening and the lighting of Aquariums.
