Revo "Prefect" mercury lantern in York
Another fantastic survivor, tucked down a little alleyway just beside a major road. This installation appears to be council-owned and maintained, given the lantern's characteristic decorative bracket. This is the only Revo lantern I have seen in York so far - definitely worth going back to get some night shots of!

Where's all the gear for these then?

That's what a was wondering! Razz My guess is the gear might be inside the building it's mounted to.

It's always interested me this, originally installed by the council, how did they get permission from the property owner to house the control gear inside they're building, and on whose electricity is it running from? If I had to give an honest answer though, I'd guess there must be some sort of FP somewhere near the light to feed it?

Could be in the cutout box?

Being mercuy it can be as far as in the base of another nearby column....
