I make this lush oldie August 1964.

I think it's more recent, 1988. The 4 means the production line number, and that machine was only installed in 1975.

Did osram use plates in lamps in the 1970s? This has plates.

The thing that makes it look old to me is the 80W and no mention of 65?

The three things that made me think it was 1964 was the deep caps, the 80w rating and the use of the word 'Patent' which I thought was dropped sometime in the seventies.
