The Wonders of LED lighting

This is a classic example of what's happening to the pole sign lighting around Leeds. The traditional fluorescent lighting was replaced with examples as shown here when the PFI was started in 2006. Such failures as these are not uncommon, In fact strobing, blinking or complete failure is frequent around the city sadly with many examples left to fail totally.

I have reported this sign light some weeks back and as you can see it has not been repaired.

I expect SSE have been loured into the empty promises of LED lighting being the holy grail and have not made allowances for failure.
