does anyone know when this type of crompton badging ended and the later style frank came in? i have a few of these tubes, the old 5 foot BC capped ones had the same style of frank too

Phil this ones date comes back as 03/1971, im sure they had the stepped cap by 1978 so it would be between 75&78 at a rough guess i would think.

the crompton tubes from the next generation frank with the bigger C on the crompton are rarer still to me, hardly ever see those

Yeah i agree with you on that. I find that these type ones seem easier to come by,
