GEC F8753A 110v to 230v Auto Transformer
This is fitted in a Benjamin Taskmaster fluorescent fixture. It is used to boost a 110v supply up to 230v required for a switch start fixture. This is rated to power one or two 80w tubes

The fixture has an inspection stamp 9/1962, I suspect this would of been fitted from new so is probably the same era

The fixture was in a industrial workshop, might of only had 110v supply in there for safety reasons when it was fitted in early 1960's
