Designplan Lighting 4' 40w Commercial Fixture - Opening Up

Here you see the access plate removed from a Designplan Lighting commercial grade 4ft linear fluorescent fixture. After this plate is removed using the three stainless security screws, the polycarbonate diffuser lifts up and slides out of the recess at the other end. Once the diffuser is out, the gear tray is removable using three thumb screws. Note the plate at the other end is NOT removable and is a bonded in, structural part of the chassis.

The chassis is made from thick steel finished with a tough layer of hammered effect paint. The polycarbonate diffuser is part of the fixture and not an optional add-on.

This has an Optima by May & Christe ballast and came fitted with a Durastart electronic starter, unsure if that's original or not though.
