Lashed up LED panels suspended from trunking
What a bodged load of crap this installation is in Birkenhead market. These are installed on trunking where all the other lights are twin weather packs. If they really, really, really must use LED, at least use LED weather packs.

Probably used whatever they found that was cheapest

It's a shame to spoil an otherwise high quality installation, looks a complete mess.

Thats a real mess of an install, how anyone can walk away having done that and think it looks ok......

Completely agree. Just noticed some other vintage stuff in this photo you don't see much of today. The Access credit card sign, a red Thorn security alarm box and what looks like one of the large metal 'Warbler' fire alarm sirens from the 70s in the middle of the pic just below the panel in the green area.

I remember our one when I was growing up had old BC fittings still in use in some areas and Fitzgerald 8 foots around everywhere else all gone now but some of the shops still have class old fittings

Most of the stalls have Fitzgerald lightpacks, including many T12.

Ulverston Indoor Market still has Merc highbays, the stalls have a mix from modern PPs, Superslims, LPs and a few mods, 8's too. They still re-lamp them all as an when they fail, even if it is just one out.

Meanwhile, my college replaced 58w dual fluorescent battens with inside certain classrooms with LED weatherpacks!
