Well Fried Ballast Parts. Anyone?
A 2-lamp Lightolier F32T8 electronic rapid-start ballast.

I had put this in use - probably sometime in 2015 (but may have also been 2016). Then one morning a month or so ago I went into the room where the light this was in is located (its on a timer - runs 10h/day) and right-away noticed 'it smells like burnt electronics in here'. then I noticed that 2 lamps were off in the light...As you can see whatever the little part was that got fried, it sure got done good.

Considering this was used for *at most* 2 years, (and the fact it went up in smoke instead of shutting down) , I'd say its a real a piece of shiit.

Oh and both lamps were perfectly fine.

@Liam:
yep .lol. burnt electronics never smells good . you couldn't -not- notice it when going in that room.

@AngryHorse:
Maybe it formed a little arc-welder within itself Laughing

@Kev:
Yep - yet another dead HF ballast for the pile I have.
Hopefully the GE that replaced it will last better....
