8-Footers .. Which Would You Pick?? Part of a store display. All are 8-feet long #1 F32T8 tandem, 'shoplight' style. #2 F54T5-HO tandem, striplight. #3 F32T8 tandem, striplight. (why 1 lamp is missing I have no idea .. looks real great for their display :lol: don't they want to sell this stuff?) #4 LED that looks stora like a F32T8 tandem #5 F96T12 slimline - the only real 8-footer in the lot. (not visible because they placed it so low the shelf support blocks it from sight when standing directly in front...great setup? right? :roll: ) -------- I dislike 'tandem' 8-footers, but if I was to pick one it'd be the T5. They do have the one F96T12 though (the HF ballast it has underdrives the lamps, but its a full-size fitting so a standard ballast would fit)

I dislike 'tandem' 8-footers, but if I was to pick one it'd be the T5. They do have the one F96T12 though (the HF ballast it has underdrives the lamps, but its a full-size fitting so a standard ballast would fit)

The F54T5-HO tandem is the neatest looking Very Happy , the LED don`t look too bad either.

I'd pick the F32T8 Tandem as they bring back memories from when I was a kid and our corner shop used to have them

I do like the F54 too .. it'd be really cool if they made such thing as a F108T5-HO 8-footer! Laughing longest T5 I've seen is 5-foot
I'll admit that LED one actually 'looks' nice. But as far as I can tell its one of those "all one piece" things so when the LED strips go out you can't replace them Rolling Eyes

But probably a T12 version back in the day right? The F32T8 strip version is very common around here.

Me personally go with F32 Tandem strip. And use instant start ballast in overdrive 2 lamp ballast for each lamp and install T12 in it.

Second choice be those 8 foot slimeline and install full power HF ballast in it.

@Funkybulb: you can do the same overdrive trick for the F96 too.. or use its crappy low-power ballast to run a pair of F96T8's Laughing
