Unusual starterless 2' gear (dimmable?)
Given to me by a friend recently, assumed it would be standard switch start but it has this Tridonic ECTH35 module fitted which looks to be for cathode heating & there's no starter so I assume it provides some form of voltage spike to strike the tube?

P.s. sorry for the terrible picture, this thing is rank so I've just chucked it in the shed until it dries out! To the right in the picture is just a standard ballast. You can see cable's to the left and right heading to the lamp holders.

Yes extremely rare dimmable magnetic ballast! Surprised

Interesting. Nice big resistor there too.

I'll try and get some more then if it's worth it? There's a pallet stacked full of them!
Danny   [07 Oct, 2017 at 11:33 PM]
Yes get them all lol

Constant cathode heating might be useful for trying to revive stubborn tubes. Would be fun to play around with one of those.

Yes, grab them! I wouldn't mind a couple to play with.
Kev   [08 Oct, 2017 at 07:33 PM]
A pallet? Are they complete weather packs?
Slyspark   [08 Oct, 2017 at 08:00 PM]
That's what I'm wondering.....
Danny   [08 Oct, 2017 at 08:07 PM]
Id have a few if theres enough!

Yep a pallet, about 40+ fixtures. They are complete 2ft weatherpacks, been outside a while, many appear to be in a poor state/damaged and came out of a chicken farm so minging. I'm in talks now trying to get the lot. Can't promise anything, but if I get them they'll be shared around

Probaby used the dimming fuction in the chicken sheds at night or something

Ive never managed to get hold of any dimming mag gear and I've always loved strange odd ball starterless gear like this
Zelandeth   [09 Oct, 2017 at 07:25 PM]
That's really interesting...add me to the waiting list!

Just a regular SS choke?
Interesting.
This basically converts it to RS!
Coool little device Cool
If it wasn't so much for shipping overseas I'd be interested too.
