I like that type of lighting. Some travelodges still have the older arrowslims with the black lampholders over the bathroom mirror.

Light over the mirror in the bedrooms here is a 3' black ended Arrowslim I believe. Forgot to snap that this time, but think I may have one from a previous trip...will have a rummage for it later.

This is following refurbs in recent years. They're perfect for the job, nice to see them not being replaced just because they aren't considered cutting edge technology.

This place I reckon is likely to see a major overhaul relatively soon. The rooms are quite threadbare in a few places. They generally do most of their business with corporate in-and-out meeting type jobs, think we're the exception to the rule when we book the whole place out. Reckon this is why it's "survived" so long, if it was a tourist hotspot rather than buried in an industrial estate it would probably have been 6500K LEDs everywhere long since...

Whats in room 237?
Well 227 I seem to recall hosting a fairly major party while we were there...or I'm missing some cultural reference because I'm stupid...
The corridor reminded me of The Shining!, and 237 with the old woman in the bath!
That would be why I was clueless then. Never seen more than a few snippets of it!

You have never seen Stanley Kubricks masterpiece???, its my all time favourite film!, I guess horror is not your film genres then?, the bath scene in room 237 is proper creepy

Horror isn't really my thing to be honest, though I can still appreciate a film for its production values. These days I tend to struggle to sit through a movie though, always get distracted after half an hour and wander off to do something else.
