Pair of Thorn 2DOW16 Wedge bulkheads, opened.
Acquired recently, a ultra rare pair of Thorn 2DOW16 Wedge bulkheads. Designed in the late 80's, as part of Thorns ever expanding 2D range, the Wedge was the only wall mounted fitting in the range boasting downwards light as the main feature, making it ideal for installations down passageways, above doors, and even on posts, single or in pairs, using the OWP pole adaptor. The fresh clean lines were supposed to be ultra modern of the time. Sadly the design didn't really take off, and numbers were kept very much low. Any that were installed eventually ended up rusting away, further adding to their demise.
I'm amazed at their simplicity, maintenance is simple. Undo two screws and the cover simply hinges forwards, an ideal feature which is so seldom used now.
