Osram Vialox 310/360w NAV-R (SON-R)
Appears BNOS but no box. Made in Great Britain, date code o8a8 - October 1998?

This is a SON reflector lamp designed to directly replace a 400w mercury lamp.

Can probably get a couple for the meet if anyone's interested?

These are a great find! I think Danny is after one of these as his is dead.

Yeah I wouldn’t say no to one as Vicar says mines dead so if I got another id bin the dead one

Never ever seen one of these in the flesh!

@Andy & Danny, on it. Problem is I don't have a suitable ballast to test it. Would it be ok to test on a 400w son ballast?
Danny   [31 Jan, 2018 at 03:22 PM]
I might be able to sort you out with some 400w gear but I NEED to double check the ratings on it

I believe these are for use on 400w mercury ballasts but I'm sure it would be ok to run for a short while on a 400w SON ballast for testing purposes.

I believe Danny's dead one did originally come from me so if you have access to some I would be interested too. The 310W was the same mercury ballast but with a lower voltage tap

Five of these now available Wink I dare not try them on 400w SON gear, although I'm sure it'd be fine just for testing. I'm 95% sure they're new, the arc tube looks new and there was a (very dusty) receipt in the box dated 1999 which ties in with the manufacturing date code

...also just found this on Lamptech, Osram stopped producing these in 1999 so these must be some of the last ones made

How much are these lamps going for?
