Haul! 2/2/18

Just been to collect this 'little' lot! Spotted outside an old workshop yesterday, went back today & the owner was there & this lot still there too luckily. Turned out to be a very friendly chap, which is always nice. He was glad they were going to be repaired/reused and offered me them for free! Sadly lots of it is in a poor state, but I should be able to make a few decent complete fixtures from it, and gain plenty of spare parts

A worthwhile trip!

Cool! If you happen to have a spare Europa single end cap in decent condition going spare, I'd love one of those please. Got a 20w fitting with a smashed end.

What you going to do with all those lol!
fluorescent   [02 Feb, 2018 at 04:58 PM]
@Andy, indeed it was! Only two villages away too

@Danny, I'll strip the ones that are knackered (ends rotted off, smashed lamp holders, bent etc) for spares. There's a few decent ones that I'll clean up & refurbish or put to use as-is

@Slyspark, yes of course if there is one. I'll go through them all before the meet and let you know

Thanks!

Looks like a couple old atlas/thorn tubes or lifeline Sylvania there?
fluorescent   [02 Feb, 2018 at 05:46 PM]
Not tested any of the tubes yet... Thorn 125w white Danny. Some nice Cryselco Natural 65w too

Nice find. If any are rotted through part of their length, would you be able to chop them down for a shorter tube and relocate the cover mounting latch accordingly ?
fluorescent   [02 Feb, 2018 at 10:54 PM]
It's the ends where the lamp holder goes that have rotted, they always go there. Will have a look into cutting them down, might be able to do something

They look fucked tbh. Id just strip them down and use the parts to make up a few good ones. These love to rust!
Slyspark   [02 Feb, 2018 at 11:05 PM]
I think that's what I'd probably do... ...that said, I'd probably naver have picked them up to start with, just salvaged a few parts where they were. I have kind of run out of space tho. Just debating getting a 20' container!
fluorescent   [06 Mar, 2018 at 06:02 PM]
20' container and Dexion type shelving would be life changing, so much storage! My 'container' is actually and old static caravan (left here by previous owner) lol... The chap wanted these out the way so I had to take the lot, not really a problem TBH, means I can go through them in the comfort of my own home when I have time

Are there any 6 footers in this lot? I am looking for 6 foot PP75
fluorescent   [06 Mar, 2018 at 08:52 PM]
They're all 5ft & 8ft

Wow has it really been over a year Confused ...I've finally got around to going through these fittings, by which I mean strip for parts & scrap most of them
