I have run this lamp today, it's working fine! I still find the 'German Technology' text amusing, it's something you normally see written on some crappy Chinese item in which it or its designers have never been anywhere near Germany lol.

The best is some of the machines at work, made by an American company and it has either “Assembled in U.S.A” in big bold text with “Made in Mexico” in tiny text right under it lol. Or “Made in the U.S.A with foreign components”
