Now that is excellent !!!! Philips were ok to this sort of time

It came out of my brother in laws Beta 5, this was only £18 when I bought it, IIRC, but at the stupid prices they are now, (and at the lanterns low mount height in his garden), I`m trying an 18 in it, Vale Royal CC ran 35watts for decades on the old 60watt SOI ballasts and it never did them any harm, so an 18 on 35watt gear shouldn`t be any different!

I can probably get you some nearly new 35s for the meet if you want free ofc
Yeah that would be cool Dan, nether of us has ANY 35s anymore!

Not as good as the Philips made Osrams tho, im pulling Osrams out now EOL dated 2006!

60W SOIs run at the same current (0.6A) as 35W SOXs and the old leak transformer ballasts where fairly constant current. however an 18W SOX is only 0.37A so its getting over driven quite badly on 35W gear...

Be interesting to see how long it goes for then!
