says MAZDA colourlux , 400w mercury, made in England, and 39, so guessing that 39 is the date code, can anyone date this lamp for me? guessing its 1960's. but could be 70's. have no idea actually

Could be March 1969 if it's an ELMA code, or possibly March '71. Not really sure though, just going by the date sheet from here. Could also be March '77/'79. Lee Newton on Facebook would be the man to ask

would you be able to ask the question? as i have no idea how to date this lamp, all i can tell you it was last used in 1987, think they came on each night, but not sure the burning hours, though we all know old mercs can last for a long long time, so this could be a 1960's lamp i guess
