The Apparently Everlasting Diall CFL...
35,000 Hours and counting...

Can't really complain at that. The thing could at least have the common decency to look hammered after being in 24/7 service for four years and counting in an enclosed fixture, but no...it still seems quite happy.

Their led are just as good too, but you only have to look at the phosphor coat on the Dial CFL, to see the quality.

Have to admit to being surprised by this one. I only bought it on a whim, thinking B&Q own brand tat...Will it make 3000 hours? Wish I'd bought a few more now, knowing they actually seem decent lamps! Not actually sure if they are a "store brand" either now, as I'm sure I've seen Diall stuff elsewhere since.

To be fair to B+Q, lamp wise, they don't sell bad stuff at all, the only bad lamps I ever had from there were branded, 'inovision', and B+Q quickly removed them from the shelves Cool
I'd love to know which Chinese factory they get them from?, as their certainly some of the best one's Cool

Snap! I've got a couple of floods that run dusk till dawn with these 23w Diall CFLs fitted, one died after about 7,000 hours, the other has probably done twice that now and is still going strong. I also have quite a few Diall GU10 LED lamps, 2.5w and 4.5w. When I bought them I noticed they were identical to some Osram branded ones in B&Q that were 3x the price

This lamp finally failed a couple of days ago. Nearly 50,000 hours...that's not a bad innings for any lamp, much less a domestic CFL, especially a reasonably high wattage one. This was in a fully enclosed fitting as well. Need to find another candidate to put on torture test in there now...hmm...

Random 14W LED thing grabbed from Tesco. Basically just grabbed the highest wattage thing they had (as light is actually needed out there!), let's see how many weeks it lasts!

"weeks", lol!

The CFL did well. I've got one somewhere which has a lot of hours on it and looks a bit crispy but still works. I also had one fail after a mere 7k hours or so though...

50,000 hours, that’s SON territory!!

The Wilko 23w CFLs were terrible and all of mine died after a couple of years and less than 5000 hours for sure. Has anyone ever tested a Prismatic to see what hours they get?
