25x metal american starters
Got these on ebay off of a bloke for 6 quid.
Start fine on UK mains.
I know american ballasts double the voltage on some fittings but I don't know if they do for 3-4ft lengths.
Either way they work great, they're cheap and metal cans are a bonus to find in the UK.

Indeed. I don't know if anyone else got any, I put a post up in the 'items for sale on eBay' forum section. See here (over a year ago, crikey how time flies!): clicky

The US ballasts indeed step up the voltage (maybe not exactly double but close to that), from 120V to approx 240V (Voc). Here we allready get 240V, so need only the actual ballasting device (the choke)

I bought a box of FS5 Feit Electric ones years ago. Lovely starters

oThose FS4 is basically your S10 starters across the pond.
Danny those FS5 made for 120 v 4 to 8 watt T5 fittings
you should do a twin series 8 watt with those starters Cool

And of course you're all using them in EARTHED starter switch holders Laughing
