This is one I haven't seen before. Noticed it while waiting at a red light and decided to pull into the parkinglot that had them for a better look & to snap a pic.
No idea if they are MV or SON since it was daytime.

Looks like a beefy American MH to me. From what i've gathered these things usually have massive bulbs in them. I saw a video online where someone changed a 1KW bulb out of one in a quad-pole setup. This was years ago so just a punt.

This one most likely pre-dates MH .. could even be as old as MH times! (its not quite as big as the pic makes it appear)

The big 1000w MH lanterns are quite common at large stores and/or shopping centers (or atleast they were...LEDs are quickly taking over Confused )

Yeah it was a shop car park where I saw the KWMH's being installed. Wonder what it is? SON?

@lasagafield: Could very easily be SON! (or even MV - both the building & lights looked fairly old.)
