Kino Flo 14W & 30W HO tubes
I ordered a pair of 15" T12 30W's for £20.
I got 2 14W's instead.
Would have been fine but one was knackered so I told the seller and got the 2 30W tubes sent.
Not tested them yet as i'm unsure what sort of gear these'd take.
A little voice in my head is telling me that a standard 30W ballast isn't gonna heat the cathodes properly.

indeed a regular 30W T8 choke is for lamps with 110V arc voltage and 330Ma lamp current. the 30W HO tubes would be best run as a pair in series off a 70W T8 choke (they are HO tubes, so double current but same arc voltage 800Ma 41V as apposed to 370ma 41V for a regular F14T12)

I was thinking just that. I got a 65W choke. It's cheeky but you reckon i'd get away with it?

you can try 2 in series off 1 65W choke but I imagine the tubes would be under-run some, if you have a Multimeter you could try various lamp and gear combinations see which gives you the closest to 800Ma Smile

I'll let you know how it goes. If it goes well i'll build a casing for one of my double fitzy ends and make a proper fitting for them.
